On October 27, 2013, Twelve Points was proud to team up with New England Patriots Safety Devin McCourty and other great sponsors to “Tackle Sickle Cell.” Benefitting Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) and the Next Step Foundation, McCourty hosted a Casino Night at the Brahmin in Boston to raise funds and awareness for the work that is being done to combat sickle cell disease.

The evening was a smash success, featuring a packed venue that included many of McCourty’s teammates. At the end of the evening, McCourty spoke of his aunt, whose own battle with the disease inspired his twin brother Jason and him to start their campaign. Attendees also heard from Dr. Matthew Heeney, Director of BCH’s Sickle Cell Program, who detailed the difficulties of both living with and fighting the disease.

Twelve Points looks forward to continuing our partnership with the McCourtys in support of their campaign. We believe that it is a company’s responsibility to be present in its community and assist local charities. These organizations are doing great work, and it is largely through corporate citizens’ support, whether financial or time-related, that they will be successful in their efforts.
