Sasha Gorskaya Earns CFP® Designation
Sasha is a Certified Financial Planner ®, who participates in the CFP® Board’s WIN-to-WIN program, which is aimed at helping women interested in obtaining the CFP® certification.
“The CFP® designation shows that you have the education and experience, and you follow the Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct,” Sasha explains. “You also have to pass a seven-hour exam, which covers the financial planning process, tax planning, employee benefits and retirement planning, estate planning, investment management and insurance.”
Sasha, who earned an undergraduate degree in Economics abroad and a Masters of Science in Financial Planning (MSFP) from Bentley University, had heard a lot about CFP® designation during her education, as it was strongly emphasized. Still, there was some research to do, since the financial services industry is flooded with all kinds of licenses, certifications, and designations.
“I didn’t want to dive into something that wasn’t a good fit,” Sasha shares. “However, it didn’t take me long to realize that CFP® is the most recognized certification that has comprehensive financial planning advice at its core and promotes the most strict ethical standards in the industry.”
Sasha grew up in a finance-conscious household, and pursued a career in finance in order to empower and educate others to achieve their life goals through financial planning.
“It’s really exciting to be a part of a vibrant community of financial planning professionals who chose to maintain the designation,” she adds.
At Twelve Points, Sasha assists senior planners in preparing goal-based personal financial plans, as well as investment portfolio analyses for existing and prospective clients. Sasha is a Certified Financial Planner ® and an active member of The Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts.
