Making the Holiday Season Joyful for Local Kids with Toys for Tots

The holiday season is a time when our thoughts traditionally turn towards not only the extended Twelve Points family, but also to our local community. This season, we decided to #ShareTheJoy by making our office in Concord an official drop-off location for Toys for Tots. The goal of the organization — to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate kids in an effort to assist them in becoming responsible, productive and patriotic citizens — closely mirrors our firm’s core values. We invited our neighboring businesses at Damon Mill Square to join us in this drive and waited with anticipation as, toy by toy, our donation box was filled to overflowing.

Every year, toys are collected and distributed in communities in which either a Marine Corps Reserve Unit is located or in an area where a group of veteran Marines wishes to conduct a campaign. In addition to toy drives, local Toys for Tots campaigns may also include bicycle races, foot races and golf tournaments to help raise money for the cause. Our toy drive was coordinated through Hanscom Air Force Base, located in Bedford, MA. We’d like to extend a special thank you to Shon Teicheira, SMSgt, USAF, Readiness NCO/FSS Superintendent, who arrived at our office on December 17 to pick up our collected donations.

Our first toy drive was a huge success, in no small part thanks to the coordination efforts of Terri Defina, Director, Client Experience and Kim Van Winkle, Director, Compliance Services. We are thrilled to announce that over 100 toys were collected for Toys for Tots within just a few weeks’ time! The boxes were full to overflowing with games, toys, dolls, stuffed animals and sports equipment. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who work in our building and participated in this event: we could not have done this without you!
